Well as you all should know,
Mark Tremonti plays guitar for Creed. Mark was born in 1974, in Detroit.
Growing up, Mark always had a thing for music. Buying albums from bands
such as Kiss, Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer, it wasnt long before he
began to entertain thoughts of playing the guitar. Those thoughts soon
became a reality when he bought a guitar, a Les Paul fake, which cost him
10 bucks. One lesson from a teacher was all it took to tick him off,
because playing nursery rhymes wasnt exactly what he had in mind. So Mark
taught himself how to play. And like all guitar players starting out, the
sound was horrific, but with many many hours of practice he became better,
and in his freshman year of high school, he was in his first band, named
Wits End. And they actually recorded some original tracks in Michigan. But
the band was forced to disband when Mark moved to Orlando, where he would
meet his future bandmate, Scott Stapp, in high school. Though not friends
at first, both knew of each other's talents. The two didnt start becoming
serious about forming a band until they reunited back in Tallahasse, at
FSU, where they eventually met Scott Phillips, the drummer, and eventually
found a bass player, Brian Marshall. Creed was formed, and folks, the rest
is history ... |
